How’s this for great use of technology - attend a job fair from anywhere in the world and look for jobs around the world (they’re all with Amazon, not other companies). For those who assumed that “second life” meant that it is directed at those a bit older who are looking to change careers or get back into the workforce, it doesn’t mean this - “second life” is a virtual world in which you can be a virtual resident. |

Check out this crazy drive through a city in Sweden - an M Coupe driving hell for leather, being followed by a motor bike with camcorders. |

This is my cockpit view sometime in the future….. BMW has done a great job of incorporating a retractable hardtop into the design. Much better than previous Roadster and Coupe models. |

So many things come in threes and today I identified a new one. Looking over the statistics of sales of small to mid-size business in California, and looking at the asking prices for those on sale, it’s was easy to conclude that the owners of a newly acquired business probably have taken on a lot of debt. So, what related to this, comes in threes? |
There’s the business for sale. Then there is the broker who connects the seller and buyer, and then there is the debt originator who arranges the financing. OK, on reflection, there are really 5 entities since we shouldn’t ignore the buyer and seller — so much for coming in threes! |
The business broker is very much the main conduit that leads to a new business owner getting into debt, so I looked at how business brokers are faring in these rough economic conditions. Click on the graph to see how things changed dramatically at the beginning of 2009. 2008 was a down year, about 17% less sales than in 2007. With December 2008 beating December 2007, the major drop in January must have been shock. The first quarter of 2009 is off 44% compared to 2008. |

With business brokers hurting so much, now is an ideal time for them to find allied services that they can offer to their clients. And since they are a conduit to getting their clients in debt, it’s logical that they consider a financial vehicle that is proven to help those in debt pay it off fast with a concomitant saving in interest payment. Realtors, who similarly are a conduit for getting their clients into mortgage debt, have embraced the Money Merge Account system from UFirst as an ancilliary service and many have benifitted by not only adding a separate income stream, but by finding ways to leverage the service to increase their core business. |
Until late last year, the Money Merge Account was not able to handle the variety of debts that a busines might have. The fact that it now does, plus the poor business conditions, make me believe that sales of the system through business brokers are going to increase significantly over the next few years. |

Integration! It’s great when it works, and OutTwit with Outlook does. After 1/2 a day of using Twitter, I started looking and found it quickly in the Twitter Fan Wiki. On the Twitter website, click Apps at the bottom of the page, then find the link close to the bottom of that page. If you don’t want to see what else there is available and want to go straight there, here’s the download page link.
There were a couple of items that needed to be changed to meet the way I work - check out my short video on installing and setting it up (hit Alt-Enter for full screen mode as I haven’t yet worked out how to record so that it looks good at all sizes).
